For a few years I have spouted off about how I can't watch comedy - specifically Seinfeld, without being struck, and struck, and struck and struck again by the structural similarities between comedy and music. I have said that I see the establishment ond subversion of a pattern as something close to the essence of both artforms.
I was thus delighted to read in yesterday's Guardian than I am not the only one.
